This week I'm celebrating the day my sweet husband was born, April 9, 1974. I've been in cahoots with Nathan's brother, Daniel and Nathan's friend, Brian Sprayberry to plan Nathan's surprise party and I've been wanting to blog about it but I couldn't! He reads the blog! I'm glad to say that the surprise was a success! Nathan had no idea. Since Nathan normally works on Wednesday nights I decided to have his party on Tuesday. Daniel and Brian were on board. They made plans to take him to a shooting range in the early evening and they knew to have him home at 7. Nathan thought I was shopping with Joy in San Marcos. Everyone came over at 6:30 and helped get final preparations done. You see, as most of you know, I did not inherit my dad's gift of being uber organized...aka OCD and if the house was clean Nathan would've known something was up. Right at 7 pm we heard them park the car and walk up to the house. The door was locked and all lights were off, just like he left it. He opened the door and he didn't even see us! It took us all yelling "SURPRISE" for him to look up and notice!

Here's Nathan still in shock....

I think everyone had a good time and enough to eat. Thanks to all of our friends for coming over to celebrate with us! Here's everyone eating some fajitas out back. It was a nice night.

Meet the Sprayberry's! Mary Kate and I know that Nathan and Brian are secretly "boyfriends". It's okay. They really are like "kindred spirits" (remember Ann of Green Gables?). They love guns, X-box, remote airplanes and cars, and Wii.
Mary Kate made a signature drink in honor of Nathan's birthday....
Nathan's Nastini dirty vodka martini. They were good!
