Ready for the Olympics!

I can't wait for 8.8.08! The start of the 2008 Summer Olympics. I've always loved the Olympics. 1984- I remember sitting on our den floor (frog style, most likely) -jaw slightly dropped-eyes glued to the TV as Mary Lou Retton took the floor for her time in the spotlight. She's still the only American to have won the Olympic All Around title. She was the first woman to win a gold medal for gymnastics and she won the All Around Gold Medal in womens gymnastics. I wonder if that stat will be broken this year.
PS...I also love Track and Field, Swimming, Soccer...just to name a few.

I'm hoping to get my kids excited about the Olympics this year. So far Logan's only excited about the new Mario and Sonic at the Olympics Wii game that came out! Oh how times have changed!

Hi Nicole!

I just found your blog through Robyn's. You are too funny! I have always loved the Olympics, but they hold extra meaning for me this year because I've actually been to China. Hannah has stick-ons of the "Fuwa" or "Friendlies" all over her bathtub that I bought when we were there.

Mike has the DVR cleared out so he can tape anything he may miss. He is a track & field nut. He used to run in High School (Sam Houston Cherokees!) and he ran bare foot! They called him Tiger Paws. He was a fast, scrawney little thing! Juergen, Becky, Shirley and I are watching the opening ceremonies tonight with some of JO's famous margaritas!
