Nathan and I got renewed fishing licenses and I have my own pole. I do so-so at the fishing part and even putting worms on the hook. I'm getting better at taking the fish off of the hook except for when they're too frantic. Then I get a little squeamish. I don't want to get stung.
I really enjoy fishing. I think it's relaxing. I hope to get a decent amount of fishing in over this next year as this is my first time to have a full year license. I know I have a lot to learn. In fact, last night right before going to bed, Nathan read my post about the lake and then came over to me chuckling. I asked him what he was laughing at and he informed me that what I'd been calling a "trout" line all week is actually called a "trot" line. Who knew? Not me, obviously!

Don't worry about what you call it...besides, I suppose if you catch a trout on it, it could be truthfully called a trout line, right? Fishing is the best...nothing like the feeling of catching a fish! David and I grew up dreaming of having our own fishing show, hahaha!
Don't worry Nicole, I am a fishing novice as well. I don't know all the lingo but I do know I love it. Mike & I bought annual fishing licenses in Colorado this year. If you want to get a run for your money, invite Hayley to fish. She can bait the hook, reel 'em in and gut the fish like nobody's business. I depend on Mike for all that yucky stuff. Let the boys keep making fun of you - just keep reelin 'em in!
A bad day fishing beats most good days at work...

That's cute Nicole...I thought the same thing but I was 10! J/K Thanks for all of your sweet comments...if you guys make it to AR definitely let me know! I love keeping up with you and Nathan on your blog!
I thought it was called a trout line, too. I guess I always thought that's how you caught trout. Who knew? So, I guess my next question is, what's a trot line for if it's not for catching trout?
