Amelia's baptism and then some...

What a great day! We had Amelia baptized November, 29th, 2009 and it was a great day full of blessings and family. We had a really hard time finding a date that worked with everyone's schedule. Her God-parents are all her aunts and uncles.
Uncle Daniel. Uncle Tommy and Aunt Chris. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Clint.

Daniel had Kelsey for the weekend and she spent the night with us. It was so great to have her celebrate with us.

We all met at church around 9am for the 9:30 service. Amelia came to church in her pj's so her christening gown wouldn't get wrinkled. The gown she wore is the same one I wore when I was baptized and Kelly, too.

Mom has kept it all these years and I'm so glad that my little girl wore it for her baptism. Last Monday we had her portrait taken and got some great shots of Amelia in it.

Here's Kelly putting on a baptismal necklace they got for Amelia.
Here's the whole family before the service began.
Amelia did great. She was content and happy during the service and when we went up in front of everyone in the congregation she was very alert and was taking it all in. Her little eyes and eyebrows always look "surprised". So cute! When we sat back down she snuggled in for a nice little nap. Sweet baby.

The message was about God's timing and it was so appropriate for what was about to happen next. First, let me rewind. At Concordia, every 5th Sunday which there are only 4 every year, we have a Jubliee Celebration. It's a special service that has a wonderful gospel message and invites all who have not yet been baptized to come up at the end of the service for holy baptism. If you have already been baptized, you can come up and reaffirm your baptism.

At the end of the service Kelly told me that Clint wanted to be baptized and they wanted to get the girls baptized, too. Yay! What a special day and so perfect. Our entire family was there to celebrate with them. Here's a picture of Kelly with our 4 guests of honor...
This next picture shows Clint just baptized and Lacey getting baptized.
Now, it's Ashley's turn.
You can see I got a little emotional. Ashley asked me why I crying and I told her it was because I was so happy!

Here are more pictures of Amelia with loved ones on this special day.
Finally, there was one last thing to do. Since Clint, Lacey and Ashley got baptized along with Amelia we had to make it official...
I'm so thankful for this wonderful day. I know we'll always remember it.

My Big Brother Gets Married!

Last weekend was an exciting time for my family! The festivities began with a family/bridal shower Kelly and I threw for our new sister in law. We enjoyed lunch at The Gunther House.
The rehearsal was at 6pm at The Little Church at La Villita.
This next pic is funny to me. I asked my Mamo to smile and this is what she gave me...hahaha! Don't tell her about this picure, Aunt Patsy! She'd be so mad!
Aunt Patsy and Jennifer look good.
Kelly and Lacey loving on Amelia...
The handsome groom...
And now, wedding day and the happy couple during their first dance.

Congratulations Tommy and Christine!
Your wedding was beautiful! We're so happy for and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

4th Wedding Anniversary

Last Thursday was our 4th wedding anniversary. It was a busy week in the name of love as my family was preparing for Tommy's wedding. Busy as we were, we still got away for a beautiful and romantic dinner at Bohanan's downtown.

There are no words to describe how amazing our dinner was but I'll go ahead and give it a try...
SERVICE: It was amazing. Our waiter took his time in his presentation. The ice cold platter of all their raw cuts of meat was pretty impressive. I learned a lot about steak that night. They seated us in their "indoor veranda" area with a window view of The Majestic Theater. Our table was sprinkled with rose petals.
STEAK: Melt in your mouth yummy. THE best steak I've ever had!
WINE: I like red wine that sticks to your ribs and is almost gritty AND makes your tongue feel like velvet. Anybody with me on this?
SIDES: Lobster creamed corn, sugar snap peas and white truffle oil steak fries. Mmm...Mmm...Mmmm!

My mom was our first official babysitter and she did great even though she says she failed. Amelia wouldn't take her bottle. Nathan says Amelia prefers to eat "straight from the tap". I know, he's such a guy! Thanks for watching her for us, Mom! Love you!

Happy Anniversary, Nathan. Each year gets better and sweeter than the last. I love you!

Halloween 2009

Being back at work has left little time to post but not to worry....life is still being documented. I'm just a little late in sharing.

First, Happy Halloween! We had a great Halloween weekend.
Kelsey came into town. Well, she came to Seguin and we met her for lunch at Taco Cabana. Amelia wore her cute Halloween onsie that had a black spider and said "Creeping Cutie".
The Carmines girls are just precious together. Kelsey loves her little cousin! She made a beautiful acrostic for Amelia and we plan to hang it in her room once we get a little frame for it. Kelsey has a picture of Amelia as her phone screen saver. So sweet.

After lunch we came home to rest and get ready for a night of trick-or-treating with more cousins. We went to mom's house along with Tommy and Chris and Kelly, Clint and the girls.
Lacey dressed up as Taylor Swift...
Tommy and Chris holding our little leopard...
Kelly was a Mexican restaurant waitress and Clint was dressed as....um....a retired motor cross person...
Here are all the ladies...
Ashley made a cute china doll!

First Day Back At Work

It went well. I didn't cry like I thought I would. Dropping off Amelia was tough but I know she's in good hands. I missed her, though. I dropped her off at 10am and visited her at 11am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and picked her up at 3:30. Do you think they'll nickname me "stalker mom"?

Here we are all dressed and ready to go.

It was great seeing everyone. Joy brought me a cinnamon crunch bagel from Panera and this made my day a little easier....
Thanks, Nathan, for the sweet flowers. So thoughtful and loving! I love them and I love you!
