Amelia's baptism and then some...

What a great day! We had Amelia baptized November, 29th, 2009 and it was a great day full of blessings and family. We had a really hard time finding a date that worked with everyone's schedule. Her God-parents are all her aunts and uncles.
Uncle Daniel. Uncle Tommy and Aunt Chris. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Clint.

Daniel had Kelsey for the weekend and she spent the night with us. It was so great to have her celebrate with us.

We all met at church around 9am for the 9:30 service. Amelia came to church in her pj's so her christening gown wouldn't get wrinkled. The gown she wore is the same one I wore when I was baptized and Kelly, too.

Mom has kept it all these years and I'm so glad that my little girl wore it for her baptism. Last Monday we had her portrait taken and got some great shots of Amelia in it.

Here's Kelly putting on a baptismal necklace they got for Amelia.
Here's the whole family before the service began.
Amelia did great. She was content and happy during the service and when we went up in front of everyone in the congregation she was very alert and was taking it all in. Her little eyes and eyebrows always look "surprised". So cute! When we sat back down she snuggled in for a nice little nap. Sweet baby.

The message was about God's timing and it was so appropriate for what was about to happen next. First, let me rewind. At Concordia, every 5th Sunday which there are only 4 every year, we have a Jubliee Celebration. It's a special service that has a wonderful gospel message and invites all who have not yet been baptized to come up at the end of the service for holy baptism. If you have already been baptized, you can come up and reaffirm your baptism.

At the end of the service Kelly told me that Clint wanted to be baptized and they wanted to get the girls baptized, too. Yay! What a special day and so perfect. Our entire family was there to celebrate with them. Here's a picture of Kelly with our 4 guests of honor...
This next picture shows Clint just baptized and Lacey getting baptized.
Now, it's Ashley's turn.
You can see I got a little emotional. Ashley asked me why I crying and I told her it was because I was so happy!

Here are more pictures of Amelia with loved ones on this special day.
Finally, there was one last thing to do. Since Clint, Lacey and Ashley got baptized along with Amelia we had to make it official...
I'm so thankful for this wonderful day. I know we'll always remember it.

Wow! Amazing. I guess the one thing that could make Amelia's baptism even more special is sharing it with her family. I love the picture of you tearing up in the background. It made me tear up too. Seeing Daniel, Nathan, Aunt Syliva and Uncle Danny there makes me miss Grandma and Grandpa. But, I'm sure they were there, too.
